Krause Basin Farm specializes in pastured pork, farm fresh eggs, heirloom vegetables, and produce. We grow most of the food we consume here and are committed to quality products. Eggs and produce are as available and depend on current supply and time of year.

Our 2023 pastured pork will be from Duroc/Landrace stock. We’re currently raising 8 animals and have 4 still available for purchase. Prices are as follows:

Whole hog: $1000 plus processing.

Half hog: $500 plus processing.

Processing—cut and wrapped—runs anywhere from $150 to $300 per animal depending on the size of the animal and the type of cuts. You can expect approximately half the live weight of the animal in meat, so a 300-pound pig will provide approximately 150 pounds of meat. We anticipate taking the animals to the processor in mid-August. From there, it is usually another 2-3 weeks until we deliver your order to you.

Our animals spend their days eating and rooting on pasture. We do feed with supplemental grain from a local supplier. (The mix is primarily soybeans and barley.) In addition, one of our neighbors owns a catering business and our animals are the beneficiaries of all her local, organic produce waste as well as any excess from our own garden.
